Choosing a planter
Roots need drainage: a planter without holes needs a layer of gravel or an inner pot. Clay and ceramic that hold water can crack in frost, so empty them or bring them in for winter unless they are stated frost-resistant. A filled planter weighs far more than an empty one: place large ones before you fill them.
Two hooks, a ring and a latticed base

Wipe the holder with a damp cloth and dry it. Lift the pot out now and then so water does not collect on the base.
