Choosing the right size

Diameters are measured across the top rim; the flat base is usually 3 to 5 cm (1–2″) smaller. Match the base to your hob ring or zone. On an induction hob, check that induction is listed under Hob types: a magnet sticks firmly to a base that works on induction.

Care and cleaning

Let the pot cool down on its own before cleaning it, and never put a hot pot in cold water or pour cold water into a hot pot, as the sudden change can crack cast iron. Dry it completely after every wash so no water stays in it.

Does it work on induction? Yes. It suits gas, induction and ceramic hobs, and a grill.

Can the lid go in the oven? Yes, once its black knob has been taken off. The pot itself is oven-safe to 400 °C (supplier-stated).

Does it need seasoning before first use? No. It arrives pre-seasoned and ready to cook with.
