Before you set it up
Check the power source first: a solar fountain runs only while its panel is in sun, and a mains pump needs an outdoor socket with a residual-current device. Keep the pump covered with water, clean it now and then, and drain the feature before the first frost.
Three bowls, one solar panel, no wiring

Solar running depends on sunlight, so place the panel in direct sun. Keep the water above the pump at all times. A light on the panel shows the battery charge: red needs charging, orange is half and green is full.

What's in the box

Assembly
Plug the pump lead into the solar panel and secure it. Fill the basin so the water covers the pump but stays below the spout. Set the panel in direct sunlight and switch it on at the back. To use the battery in low light, press its switch.
Care and cleaning
Clean the pump filter now and then. If the fountain runs dry or is not in use, disconnect the pump from the battery and the panel to protect it.
Frequently asked questions
Does it need mains power? No. It runs from its solar panel, with a backup battery for cloudy spells.
Does it work at night? The battery can run the pump without sunlight once charged, and the LEDs light the bowls. Run time depends on how much sun the panel had.
