An 80 cm H-shaped steel ground spike that is hammered in beside a leaning or broken wooden fence post and bolted to it, holding the post upright without digging.

Measuring for a gate or panel

Measure the opening between the posts at the top and at the bottom and take the smaller figure; a gate needs a few centimetres less than the opening for its hinges and latch. Check the height against any local rules for boundary fences before you buy.

An H-shaped spike that braces the post

Water dry ground first so the spike goes in more easily, and check for buried pipes and cables before hammering. Wear gloves and eye protection.

Assembly

Stand the stake against the post and hammer it in until the lower 40 cm is below ground. Then screw and bolt the upper section to the post.
